The new C10 full-face helmet complies with the most recent ECE 22.06 criteria. HJC took advantage of the situation to implement a few other smart adjustments, delivering in the case of the C10 a budget-friendly entry level motorcycle helmet with a wide variety of sizes.
Please note! Contrary to the product image, this helmet comes with a clear visor. The pictured tinted visor is available separately.
That sizing table goes – in the C10 concept – from 3XS to 2XL. More specifically, this ‘adult’ motorcycle helmet can also fit children. If you are familiar with HJC: this manufacturer of helmets is now getting rid of the old CL-Y and CS-15 motorcycle helmets and is bringing the whole spectrum together in this renewed C10 sizing table. In order to keep the entire series as compact as possible, no less than four helmet shells contain all helmet sizes. The fact that these are made of Advanced Polycarbonate Composite explains why the weight is kept around 1400 grams.
The transparent HJ-34P visor can be extended with a Pinlock®-lens, which you’ll need to buy separately. The visor is the equivalent of a widescreen display which can only benefit safety and riding comfort. Don’t go looking for a sun visor. The razor-sharp price also obliterates the proverbial whistles and bells. If you’re into sunshine – or love a summer’s ride – you’d best opt for a second, darker visor. The easily workable mechanism to switch visors is definitely not an obstacle here.
The C10 is a motorcycle helmet that goes back to the essence. Well. The improved Advanced Channelling Ventilation system is actually a product from the MotoGP motorcycle helmets HJC makes, delivering sufficient airflow. The riding wind extrudes all heat and moisture instantly through the chin and double top ventilation, resulting in a comfortable ride. The ventilation openings are very easy to control, by the way, even with motorcycle gloves.
The closure is micrometric. Precise up to a few millimetres and attached to an adjustable, soft strap. The wind curtain chin is removable and fits the washable soft lining perfectly.
Price-quality an excellent choice, that’s what that is.
In some countries (e.g., France) it is mandatory to provide your helmet with reflective stickers. The C10 is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and visor cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
