The IS-33 II disappears. Long live the I30. This maxi-jet helmet is above all the spiritual successor of what was already a very good motorcycle helmet and therefore the I30 is a completely renewed, revisited and developed jet helmet that meets all contemporary standards and demands.
A jet helmet that is closer to the flip-up helmets than to the traditional bucket helmets. Both in terms of design and features. The possibility to integrate a SMART HJC intercom system is there, which makes the I30 also an excellent extra motorcycle helmet for the occasional passenger.
Two helmet shells in polycarbonate contain all helmet sizes, so you always have a compact motorcycle helmet. One that doesn't put extra kilos on your head, only 1500 grams. This is not feather light, but a direct consequence of the choices HJC made and which you as wearer of the I30 can only benefit from. Starting with the triple top ventilation that pulls in maximum air and oxygen. It creates a fresh airflow before leaving the helmet from behind and guarantees a fresh head and clear thoughts. In all circumstances, because you can simply close the top ventilation if necessary.
That this airflow works closely together with the interior is logical. ‘Multi-Cool' is the name of the game and that says it all. This type of helmet doesn't have to promise 'super warm winter rides' either: you wear the I30 in better conditions and that's a perfectly logical choice. However this jet helmet does offer some extra options.
The transparent visor extends far and protects your whole face. So you can really hang on to the throttle after the traffic lights, you will never be in trouble to breathe. Moreover, the visor is Pinlock®-ready and not subject to turbulence. A wide field of vision and easy replacement thanks to the Microlock base plate system, there's a lot to be said for it. You also get an integrated sun visor on top. Or at the back, it depends on how you look at it. The controls are located at the bottom left and gloves on or off makes almost no difference when it comes to control, ease of use and smoothness.
Let it be clear: this is not a 'bucket on your head', it is a modern motorbike helmet for very versatile use. Nothing rules out that you can just as easily commute with this as go for a ride on Sunday or just enjoy cruising. Everything is possible.
The neck rim is worked out with a lot of eye for detail and as it should be, the micrometric closure is adjustable in length and perfectly integrated in a soft setting.
Reflective stickers - mandatory in certain countries (like France) - are not included.
Some maintenance tips: For cleaning the outside of your helmet, we can recommend the helmet cleaner from S100. The helmet interior can also be cleaned, without removing it, with S100 interior cleaner. A treatment on the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain showers.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches create a blinding reflection of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
