The Schuberth S3 is a full-face helmet from the sports and touring collection and Schubert’s first full-face helmet that complies with the newest ECE 22-06 certification. It links the performance (and safety) of thoroughbred racing material to the comfort of touring motorcycle helmets without dropping the ball once.
There’s a lot to be said about the Schuberth S3 and even more to discover. Just like there are coffee table books, this could be a coffee table motorcycle helmet. Safe, aerodynamic, silent and simply great all-round, this full-face helmet.
First things first: air. The ventilation opening on the chin contains a washable and replaceable filter because – definitely in extreme conditions – fresh air is paramount. Operating the open/closed buttons is very intuitive, which is also true for the top ventilation slider. The air outlet is hidden below the tightly-designed spoiler in the back. The new DFP Fibreglass helmet shell has been reinforced with carbon fibre to enhance shock-absorption and to lower the weight. Two helmet shells contain all helmet sizes. The scale stops at 1700 grams. Definitely okay for a full-face helmet with integrated sun visor.
For the design of this new full-face helmet, experts, technicians and engineers found their inspiration in the ‘old’ style of the oval full-face helmets from the seventies. Hence the rectangular chin piece.
The S3 offers an integrated, adjustable and flippable sun visor and an improved field of vision thanks to the patented V-lock mechanism. Evidently, the transparent visor is accompanied by a Pinlock® 120-lens.
In their own wind tunnel, Schubert tries to link aerodynamics to acoustics and in this particular case, that should deliver 85 dB(A) at 100kph on a naked bike.
Don’t make us accountable but we have to admit: low sound levels have been Shubert’s spearhead for quite some time.
Just like the entire Shubert collection, this S3 benefits from the Anti-Roll-off system which is now supplemented by the S.R.S (SCHUBERTH RESCUE SYSTEM). Thanks to this system, emergency services are able to simply remove the cheek pads below, reduce impact and potentially remove the motorcycle helmet altogether.
The microphone, HD speakers and three antennas for FM radio, Bluetooth Intercom and Mesh Intercom for an SC2-intercom have already been fitted inside the Schubert S3. This obviously simplifies the integration of that communication system.
A micrometric closure at the end of an adjustable (and newly positioned) strap warrants a proper closure.

Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet are best cleaned with S100 Helmet and visor cleaner.
Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
