The Luna softshell motorcycle jacket by GMS – or ‘Germas’ – doesn’t really make the effort to hide the fact that there doesn’t even need to be a motorcycle around in order to hang out in this. Although it’s definitely a full-blown motorcycle jacket.
Not for road trips that travel over highways for days on end. Nor the circuit. The Luna feels at home in the city and on roads that slowly but surely lead there. The integrated CE protectors on the shoulders and elbows offer the required impact protection and you can even add a CE-certified back protector to that, delivering a set that definitely checks the mark of base protection.
The exterior of the GMS Luna is made of softshell, so mainly directed towards practical comfort. More than wear-resistance. Again: if you want to crush your lap record or hope to cross through Germany in a couple of hours, you will probably use different gear for that. The Luna’s nature is calm. City. Civilised. Comfortable.
And, water-resistant. Not ‘flood-resistant’ but ‘sufficiently water-resistant to stay dry while you’re figuring out where to find shelter’. This doesn’t have to be a bridge underneath the highway, this can be walking down the shopping street. The removable hood even comes in two versions: one with fur, one without. You can determine your level of cuddliness yourself.
The GMS Luna has two outer pockets and three inner ones. The sleeve ends are supplied with zips to possibly slide your motorcycle gloves inside or over your sleeves and the collar is a nice fit. A centring strap with press stud and a vertical zip on each flank keep everything tight and stylish; which can be said of this motorcycle jacket in general.
The most evident combination is with proper motorcycle jeans.
