The SCORPION Covert FX is one of those ‘fighter pilot helmets’ from the SCORPION squad. Aggressive lines, sharpness, tight design and more than enough qualities to – underneath that appearance – ultimately stay a very comfortable full-face helmet that complies with recent ECE 22.06 criteria.
They are aware of this at SCORPION, which is why in the box, there’s already a second, darker, smoked visor. To highlight those streetfighter ambitions. This is what many would call, a ‘fun motorcycle helmet’.
Two helmet shells made of ultra TCT™ fibreglass hold all motorcycle helmet sizes, delivering compact motorcycle helmets weighing approximately 1500 grams, that have become (definitely in the front, at the chin) a tad more pointed. The ‘nose’ is flanked left and right by the triple mesh grills of the (closable from the inside) chin ventilation. They lead riding wind inside and up, where there’s an adjustable top ventilation. The sweat and testosterone filled air exits the motorbike helmet in the back, below the aerodynamic spoiler.
It passes the Kwikwick 3 comfort lining on the way out and this is where we definitely lose the path to street fighting. The breathable, completely removable and washable lining makes sure that every ounce of aggressiveness oozes away into the soft, low noise hug this SCORPION Covert FX gives your head. In the meantime, KwikFit shows the temples of your glasses where to go and even though from the outside, it looks like you could attack anyone at any given moment, inside the SCORPION Covert FX you’ll probably be at the stop sign with a big smile, listening to the birds whistling. You choose which visor you are looking through at that point. It’s no problem whatsoever to change your mind – and your visor – during the ride because there’s no tools involved. It’s also an option to attach a Pinlock MaxVision anti-fog inner lens. To be bought separately.
You secure the SCORPION Covert FX with an adjustable, micrometric closure.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
