The Lamina GTX Lady is only for the ladies. The ‘Lady’ affix might suggest otherwise but at REV’IT! they started with a blank slate and laminated GORE-TEX to end up here.
Alright, honesty requires us to mention that the concept of the Lamina GTX in part coincides with the ‘male’ counterpart, the Echelon GTX. But, that same honesty also requires us to mention that the Lamina GTX Lady motorcycle jacket does take the typical characteristics of the female body into account. Without a dash of pink, we might add.
About those characteristics of the female anatomy… you will probably be more familiar with them than we are able to describe here so we’ll just stick to the fact that the Lamina GTX Lady offers sufficient stretch and leeway for every woman to feel comfortable, relaxed and safe. Yes, we too noticed that that sentence sounds more like the commercial for another typical lady product. In a minute we’ll proclaim that the Lamina GTX allows women to ride horses, swim, practise gymnastics and whatnot. The Lamina GTX motorcycle jacket, however, is meant to ride motorcycles. And yet, its style and appearance are tight and rather discreet about its possibilities and features.
The Lamina GTX doesn’t look like a harness. Nonetheless, impact protection is up to scratch. Standard equipped with a SEESOFT™ Air back protector while elbows and shoulders have been provided with thinner and comfortable SEEFLEX™ protectors. Add the sturdy, wear-resistant exterior in 2L Nylon GORE-TEX and the only conclusion can be that the Lamina GTX Lady comes with sufficient protective material.
Technically, it’s up to scratch as well. The GORE-TEX technology has been tried and tested. The Lamina GTX Lady ‘breathes’ in one direction and keeps water out in the other. In order to fully succeed doing that, the zips are waterproof. At the same time, those zippers (namely those on the upper arms) allow for sufficient direct ventilation. There is no thermal lining, opening up the option of a thermal jacket. This gives you the opportunity to partially decide for yourself how far you go. Literally and figuratively, by providing the necessary layers yourself. Or not. The centring, adjustable straps on each side keep it comfortable and snug in all circumstances.
The sleeve ends, the neoprene collar and the waist are adjustable, just like the width of the lower arms. The storage space in the back, then again is easily overlooked. It’s there, though, just like the slash pockets, inner pockets and an additional storage compartment on the left sleeve. We could talk a little more about those sleeves too, but you might want to discover those things yourself. Pay close attention to the way the shoulder is connected to the motorcycle jacket and experience the comfort and freedom of movement it provides.
The Lamina GTX is a lot of woman, a lot of motorcycle jacket, and few frills. And no pink! The latter this Lamina GTX Lady motorcycle jacket has in common with the eponymous motorcycle trousers, delivering the perfect combination.
