The Speedflight fits the tradition of the technical, gorgeously constructed motorcycle shoes that link the disposition of full-blown motorcycle gear to the look of a sporty sneaker.
First of all, this results in a list with technical tours de force and safety elements that can be found in the better motorcycle boot. Speedflight motorcycle shoes are made from high-quality ripstop material with seamless reinforcement panels, supplemented with a semi-hard, preformed heel cap. Lightweight, well-advanced disposition – or at least, close to it.
The full name of the intermediate sole in the Speedflight is the Alpinestars TPF Transversal Protection Frame intermediate sole and is located between the bottom rubber sole and the EVA footbed on top of that. Another clever construction that offers comfort, stability and another dose of rigidity. And not to forget: a motorcycle shoe that offers protection. The motorcycle shoe is also given quite an aggressive drop of 10 mm, which means that there’s a (noticeable) height difference between the heel and the toes. You’ll notice the comfort immediately when you step off the bike. We haven’t even mentioned the removable OrthoLite® insole with breathing capacity yet. You can wear the Speedflight just as easily without a motorcycle, then when you’re on one.
Thanks to the lace loop, the laces stay where they belong, on top of the elasticated tongue that ensures a tight fit. The hard-wearing ripstop is supplemented with an integrated gear panel and when you hold the Speedflight in your hands, you’ll see and feel the sole(s) that together with the walls ensure a remarkably low yet protective motorcycle shoe.
