The Tourer W-7 V2 Drystar is the second version of the motorcycle glove for tourers with the waterproof Drystar® membrane. At least, that’s what we make of the name and the ‘V2’ that’s in it. This winter motorcycle glove is a stylish and mostly high-quality motorcycle glove with a classic, hence reliable structure.
With an integrated Drystar® membrane and a Thinsulate lining, it quickly becomes clear what seasons Alpinestars are aiming for here. Summer certainly isn’t one of them. At the top, the Thinsulate is 150 grams ‘thick’, with 100 grams in the palm of the hand. That internal technology is neatly integrated underneath the outer layer, consisting of a combination of softshell and leather: softshell for comfort, leather for grip and an extended service life.
That outer layer runs all the way up to the wrist, where you can adjust and close the cuff as well as the glove by means of Velcro. When temperatures are dropping below zero, these are assets that will make the difference in your comfort level.
A high degree of protection, linked to tangible robustness delivers quite the result, however, with a less prominent presence of leather than the previous version. Stylish, tight, with a proper knuckle protector and additional protective layers on the sides and in the palm of the hand – focused on decent grip – and on the fingers that are also padded.
The finger tips are compatible with just about every touchscreen. A reflective print increases visibility in less than ideal conditions.
