Held categorises the Marick WP motorcycle shoe as ‘urban’, which seems to be a little restrictive for what this comfortable and waterproof motorcycle sneaker can handle.
The presence of the waterproof, windtight and breathing Held-Tex-Z-Liner membrane allows these stylish motorcycle shoes to be true all-rounders that can be used in just about every season. The only limitation is the shaft that’s only 15 centimetres high. These are motorcycle shoes no less, not motorcycle boots.
Furthermore, they have everything you would expect of them: the exterior is a combination of Amara, microfibre and artificial leather. In short: stylish. Comfortable too because the soft polyester lining and the side-zip allow your foot to slip in effortlessly, turning the laces into a visual aspect, which we don’t mind on a motorcycle.
The nose of the Marick WP has been given a gear lever protector and internally, you’ll notice the reinforcements at the heel, toes and ankle. This results in a certification as ‘protective boot’, although no one at Held will blame you if you simply call them top-drawer motorcycle shoes.
The sole is nonslip and delivers accurate grip, on the peg or on the ground.
