Whoever thought of Holden Caulfield when reading ‘Colden’, knows their classics – almost. That puts this ‘motorcycle jacket disguised as a lumberjack shirt’ almost in the right category as well. The Colden is a little bit of everything – or not at all: it is a textile motorcycle jacket, not waterproof, light, not mesh…
The MODEKA Colden looks like a checkered shirt but it is definitely a 100% street legal motorcycle jacket. One important condition is having a central zip; which it does. It is hidden somewhat underneath the cover flap with the row of press studs, but it’s there. This means that you can put them on or take them off lightning fast, and that you can blend into the crowd after you’ve parked your motorcycle somewhere. In other words, the Colden is the ideal solution if you’re not too fond of dress-up parties or changing in and out of clothes, or even a structured approach that takes about fifteen minutes before and after your ride. This will take 30 seconds – and off you go.
In turn, you are giving something up: the Colden is not a waterproof touring jacket, not a racing suit, not a genuine adventurer, nor is it a light mesh jacket. Its biggest freedom is also its biggest drawback but optimists will remember the ‘freedom’ part. This is ‘put on and take off’, like you would imagine it. Quick, easy, never really wrong, often really right.
What else? Two chest pockets, a layer of aramid to make everything wear and tear-resistant. WINNER®protectors on the shoulders and elbows that offer sufficient safety without getting in the way. If you feel you need it, you could still fit the optional CE-approved back protector. There isn’t much more to discover beyond that. What you see and what you get are close cousins in this Colden. That is also freedom.
This motorcycle jacket is best combined with motorcycle jeans.
