AMP-3 stands for Alpinestars Motion Pack 3, which is a compact motorcycle backpack that is technically solid. With a 17-litre capacity, the AMP-3 is not the largest of the pack, but as we all know: size rarely really matters.
This AMP-3 motorcycle backpack is constructed of a heavy-duty fabric. Wear and tear-resistant and resilient against anything the open road may bring seems almost too easy. Definitely if you consider the shaping, reinforcements and padded walls that help retain the shape of the AMP-3. This motorcycle backpack can stand their ground, even without hard walls to support it.
The central compartment of the AMP-3 has full-length openings with double zips. You can choose to use the dual pulls as you please, allowing easy and wide access to the most important and largest space. In here, you’ll notice a smaller elasticated compartment and a laptop holder. Laptops up to 15 inches can be stored safely. Larger ones are not an option. There’s a separate zipped compartment in the ‘lid’ and the base of the AMP-3 is perceptibly sturdier.
Two elasticated, external, semi-open pockets on the left and right are perfectly suitable for storing water bottles or other articles. The first thing we think of is the supplied rain cover that doesn’t have its own designated storage space.
Four adjustable compression straps (two on the left and two on the right) reduce the stored volume if needed, providing an even more compact motorcycle backpack. At the same time, the wide and adjustable shoulder straps merge into a chest strap and a waist band. They manage to divide the load over your upper body equally and supported by the 3D mesh back pad reduce fatigue and enhance comfort on the way.
Fun details are the magnetic closure of the chest strap (very convenient with gloved hands) and the clips preventing the excess strap to whip you while you ride. Of course, Alpinestars knows what challenges a motorcycle ride can bring.
