The exterior made from nubuck, canvas and split suede (we had to look that one up ourselves too) gives this summer motorcycle shoe an appearance that would hardly stand out at a skatepark. Sneakers don’t really get any more ‘street’ than this, while guaranteeing 100% riding fun in these minimalistic, ankle-high motorcycle shoes.
Or other types of fun. The knitted mesh on the ankle and the (thick) vulcanised sole give you a strong walk, also long after you’ve got off your bike. The Staded Shoes are quick and swift, need to be ‘used’ and rarely fall out of style. The city – with its fluctuating conditions – is the favourite playground of this motorcycle shoe; and if you stand out there, you can probably conquer every (civilised) ground. You can wear these for long distances – if you consider the weather beforehand. There’s one disadvantage to ankle-high shoes: you can’t really keep water and weather at bay.
The retro vibe that belongs to the tight line pattern partly disguises its contemporary qualities. You could say the same of the classic laces, which you probably won’t ever use thanks to the side zip. We hope to say the same of the ankle protection, which really is there.
Apart from these Staded Shoes, Alpinestars is not afraid to produce a full-blown motorcycle boot as well, which shouldn’t come as a surprise when you see how assets such as the Alpinestars Transversal Protection Frame (TPF) find their way into motorcycle shoes like these. TPF protects the foot, supports (important on the peg) and all that without impeding the motions your forefoot makes when getting off.
ALPINESTARS’ Stated Shoes are young, trendy, stylish, easy, comfortable and safe to use on a motorcycle or scooter.
The higher the fashion level – and the level of ‘we don’t really look like motorcycle shoes’ –, the smaller the chance your shoes have a full-fledged shifting reinforcement. No problem on a scooter but on a motorbike, the multitude of shifting will quickly cause wear and tear. A shame of the shoes because this “wear and tear” will not often be incorporated in the warranty conditions.
You’d better take precautions, give yourself a hand or a foot in this case and add an extra layer to your motorcycle shoe or your gear lever. There are a number of options available in our range.
