The Avro 5 is a thoroughbred leather motorcycle jacket for the open road. Inspired by and closely related to the eponymous series of two-piece motorcycle suits, hence, with a direct connection to the MotoGP™.
The foundation of the Avro 5 is a combination of premium Tutu cowhide with elastic inserts in S1 and Micro-elastic 2.0. Together, this results in a good, tight, sporty motorcycle jacket with still sufficient freedom of movement. Comfort, flexibility and sufficient rigidity in order to enjoy proper protection, it is and always will be a likeable approach.
The Avro 5 almost feels like a preshaped harness. Or does it? The latest Veloce Racing Neck structure – a system derived from the MotoGP™ - minimises the pressure that is placed on the neck in a way that would make medieval knights envious. There are a number of other additional technical solutions and gadgets than can be admired in some of the best tracks over the weekend. The removable external aluminium shoulder sliders are one of those gadgets, but this can actually refer to the entire construction.
The elbow and shoulder protectors in composite material are removable and on par. You can optionally fit in a G1 or G2 back protector in this motorcycle jacket, or a double chest protector, should you want to.
Then again, street use is emphasised with an inner pocket and two external storage pockets. The elasticated collar and elastic inserts do as they are told. With a fixed, breathing mesh lining, air inlets on the sides and a removable thermal lining, suddenly a broad section of the thermometer comes into reach. Evidently, in the knowledge that waterproofness is not a priority in a motorcycle jacket like this.
Add the ergonomic shape to all these features and the option to customise the waist and the result is a versatile motorcycle jacket for anyone who loves this sporty, tight style. The Avro 5 can be effortlessly combined with DAINESE motorcycle trousers of the same category.
