The leather Argon 2 motorcycle jacket was given the same name as the budget motorcycle racing suit, which means we are now in the category that houses budget-friendly, leather, sporty touring motorcycle jackets. But, one that has been granted AAA certification, which is quite impressive in this price range.
Just to be clear: although from a distance, this Argon 2 motorcycle jacket looks like the top half of a motorcycle suit, it’s not really a track devil. The lack of solid sliders and a hump are two clear indicators of that. The Argon 2 feels most at home on the streets but it does look like it enjoys watching the MotoGP on the weekend. It is available in different versions and colours.
Sturdy buffalo leather is supplemented with stretch material under the arms and on the sides, creating a wonderfully tight cocoon that still allows you to move around somewhat thanks to its anatomical preshapedness. Waving to someone across the street is no issue. The buffalo leather is perforated on the chest and back, increasing the ventilation level. The downside being that facing a rain shower head-on might require a little assistance of a proper motorcycle raincoat. Cold and sunny, sure, because the removable bodywarmer arms you against temperature fluctuations (and exceedingly high speeds, that too…). In any case, the Argon 2 motorcycle jacket is more than you’d expect from a genuine, fast, leather motorcycle jacket – rather impressive.
You can’t get any higher than AAA class, so you’re in good hands. The TPU protector on the shoulder underlines the sporty style of the Argon 2. At dazzling speeds, you’ll need other sliders, which could never hurt in the right setting. The (double) SEESOFT™ chest and back protectors can be fitted in optionally. Excellent SEEFLEX™ CE-level 2 shoulder and elbow protectors come standard. Everything is held together tightly with safety seams that – you guessed it – wouldn’t look bad on a motorcycle racing suit either.
Two slash pockets with zip on the outside provide more than enough storage space, combined with the inner pockets (including in the bodywarmer).
If you want to use the zipper, you combine the sporty Argon 2 motorcycle jacket with the REV’IT! Apex motorcycle trousers. This combo delivers quite the looker. Or, in this case, decent motorcycle jeans are an option too.
