This REV’IT! Xena 4 Lady motorcycle jacket is more closely related to the Xena 4 motorcycle racing suit than to its motorcycle jacket ancestor (Xena 3 Lady), which might require a little explanation. Anyway, the result is a high AAA safety class in a very comfortable – apologies – jacket.
First things first, the explanation: the Xena 4 motorcycle racing suit was given an impressive upgrade and is actually almost a trend shift compared to everything that came earlier. Like turning a onesie into a one-piece racing suit, so to speak. This motorcycle jacket is a derivative of that new, improved AAA motorcycle racing suit. Probably more than it being the rational or obligatory succession to the Xena 3 motorcycle jacket we already knew. It is becoming quite a complex pedigree but trust us: this is the crème de la crème, this top-class motorcycle jacket for ladies.
The most important thing to remember is that this Xena 4 Lady motorcycle jacket bears a AAA certification. Its predecessor had… A. That update occurred mainly internally, which obviously means that visually, the Xena 4 still resembles the sporty, fashionable, sharp and tight motorcycle jackets we are all familiar with. And despite that AAA class, this is still street gear. For the tracks, you need a full-blown racing suit, and here, the absence of a hump, hard parts and actual sliders are an indicator that it is best to reduce that speed by 150 kilometres per hour than you would without a license plate.
The exterior of the Xena 4 is a sensible mix of cowhide, PWR|SHELL stretch, 3D mesh and a – very subtle – reflective accent. Tight, stylish and feeling like second skin, besides its top protection, this is simply as sharp and as feminine as can be. The motorcycle jacket is available in a variety of colours, so style and taste are still a personal preference. The Xena 4 is an ingenious piece of technology, in a gorgeous and comfortable packaging.
The removable thermal body warmer will bring you lots of comfort in those chillier moments. Do keep in mind that wind and water won’t be able to stay outside completely. Parts of the leather are perforated, which increases ventilation but which also compromises water-repellent properties. This body warmer is another illustration of the Xena 4 motorcycle jacket not being a purebred racer.
Stretch material and accordion fabric allow you to even put your hair in a ponytail yourself and there’s a little adjustment possible in the waist thanks to two Velcro straps. At the sleeve ends, you get to choose: gloves over or inside your jacket. There isn’t too much storage space. More than a racing suit, less than a touring jacket, something like that. You choose, you lose but you can still store the main essentials in two zipped pockets, or the body warmer’s inner pocket. And don’t forget: you’ll still look marvellously sharp and feminine.
Top level impact protection is a given for a jacket of this calibre. SEEFLEX™ Level 2 CE protection on elbows and shoulders are standard and the all-round AAA class is the highest class a piece of motorcycle clothing can aspire. The missing external shoulder and elbow sliders are another indicator for street use and gives the Xena 4 – in all its sportiness and speed – a certain degree of civility. A SEESOFT™ RV or SEESOFT™ Air CE-level 2 back protector can be integrated optionally.
The combination with the Xena 4 motorcycle trousers are an obvious choice thanks to the connecting zip, or, any pair of REV’IT! jeans.
