The short Epsilon H2O REV’IT! is part of the DARK collection, which always has room for a little experiment. In this specific case, it is remarkable that this Epsilon H2O is the first DARK piece that isn’t completely black.
Moreover – and this is quite something – the colour gradation from dark to light hasn’t been printed but woven. This delivers a strong, outstanding design with excellent technical qualities. It’s up to you to decide whether there’s light in the darkness, or if it’s the darkness that’s sneaking up from below.
The visual print-that-isn’t-a-print, is the result of shoulders in PWR|JACQUARD, a weaving technique best known for its durability and long service life. It matches the (black) softshell and the removable hood perfectly, turning the Epsilon H2O – the fifth letter of the Greek alphabet, which we all know to be the euro sign – into quite the appearance on the streets. One you wouldn’t all together or exclusive associate with a motorcycle. It matches the casual city style of those sporty humans who travel between meetings by motorcycle, scooter or café race.
And yet, this is a full-blown motorcycle jacket, made in 3L-softshell. Softshell is all-round, keeping you dry from the inside and offering comfort in most weather conditions. Specifically when you can count on a natural dose of permeability and when it offers some assistance through ventilation zips on the lower arms and back. If you lose track of things on the way, simply follow the coordinates on the lower left arm. They will lead you straight to where it all begins.
Underneath the soft exterior, there’s a waterproof and breathing – integrated and hence, non-removable Hydratex® membrane offering protection against the elements. A removable lining provides extra insulation when it gets chillier. Usually, by then, the largest part of summer is behind us.
The removable hood has a little magnetic element, perfectly integrated in the laminated reflection on the back. Invisible, yet perfect for a perfect unit and minimal fluttering. Aesthetically speaking, the line patterns are also still very much okay.
The short H2O REV’IT! might offer a little more play and space than the average motorcycle racing jacket; it’s still REV’IT!, where they like it short, tight and close-fitting. With a dash of Velcro on the sleeve ends and the waist, you can even adjust it a little.
There’s protection in the form of SEESMART™ protectors on the elbows and shoulders. If you wish, you can effortlessly fit a SEESOFT™ RV or SEESOFT™ Air CE-level 2 back protector and there’s the option to add a (double) chest protector.
Storage options in the Epsilon H2O come in the form of two slash pockets (with zip) and two inner pockets. There’s a connecting zip, although the combination with decent motorcycle jeans seems likely as well.
There is maintenance clothing, and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer.
