To REV’IT! style and safety are equally as important in this Rilan TF, delivering a pair of unique motorcycle jeans that looks like it has kissed the tarmac before. Deliberately. Because weathered, damaged and patched up looks good and trendy. Although it seems more simple than it actually is.
The point? The Rilan TF wants to look used without being used. Patched up but not really, because if it were actually patched up, this would (possibly) interfere with safety, which is not what anybody wants. Even more: certification standards like a quick patch, which is also a factor. Apparently, looking like you’ve been dragged across the tarmac while still look ready to be dragged a first time, is easier said than done. REV’IT! needed their own lab with full option testing capacity to achieve that and was able to perfectly simulate the certification criteria while shaping this Rilan TF.
These Rilan TF motorcycle jeans have a tapered fit, which means they should fit tightly at the bottom. Take a look at the details: the colour of the rivet button in the corner of the fifth pocket and the REV’IT! logo on the inside of the central button exposes the CE certification of these motorcycle jeans. Red means class AAA (the class of leather suits), blue gets you AA and black warrants class A safety.
In this most recent motorcycle jeans collection, REV’IT! comes closest to ‘regular’ jeans, in terms of looks and comfort. This is only possible because the materials are now more hard-wearing than ever before. No need for six layers of fabric – one single sturdy base layer and that’s it. In this specific case, these new materials are ’15.5 oz. Cordura® stretch Denim’: wear-resistant, sturdy and very comfortable too, thanks to the Coolmax® and Thermolite that keep everything summery.
The height-adjustable knee protectors are SEESMART CE-level 1. Sleek and tight, and more preshaped than anything REV’IT! used before. Specifically in the tight-fitting motorcycle jeans trousers, the light curvature is a bonus, although every pair of motorcycle jeans and its wearer benefit from a better shaped protector. Undoubtedly when – like here – they are well-ventilated and seamlessly integrated into the motorcycle jeans of this REV’IT! generation. Protectors like these ones are customised, with a left and right version. Hip protectors are optional and can be bought separately.
The seams have been reinforced where useful. Three times even, in all the critical areas. Further, we are still fans of the reflective stripe that only appears when you flip over the bottom of the pant leg.
Using the Safeway 2-belt, these jeans can be zipped to your favorite REV'IT! jacket.
