At least 2/3 of this large Trekker Outback EVO’s name is very well-known and needs little introduction. Side and top cases, Monokey, world travellers or robust commuters, sturdy fellows, in different sizes and equipped with all the necessities to tour around comfortably.
There’s a big chance you are already familiar with the Trekker Outback seen as you can only find the left side case here. There’s also a separate left side case. You can also find them as one set – together – with or without a recess for your high exhaust at the right side. All these options are available in the black aluminium version as well as in the traditional, clean aluminium version. Just to explain that with or without top case, by piece or by set, the luxury of GIVI and of (among others) this Trekker Outback EVO series hides in the modular approach. The Trekker Outback range consists of a number of formats of top and side cases to assemble your set to your liking.
The Outback was already pretty good and versatile – now it comes with even more possibilities. Functionality and the all-round quality has been maintained and at a very high level, with details adding to that extra layer.
What changed – hence, what has evolved? The four tension strap holders on top of the cases have become more refined, thanks to an improved version of the plastic element that was introduced earlier (the 2018 update). The GIVI print in relief on the sides of the cases looks a little different and more modern as well. The handles are wider to be comfortable even with motorcycle gloves on. The hinge is an update, with an ‘endpoint’ that eliminates the need for the two strings on the inside: the lid will stay open no matter what, should you want it to. Another innovation is the little hook on the inside, allowing the side case to be suspended on the rack, for an even more practical accessibility.
As per usual, these cases come with an additional (third) lock. Fitting it in your (existing) top case gives you a complete case set that can be operated with one single key. Easy and practical.
The GIVI Trekker Outback EVO side case is part of the Monokey® series and can only be used as a right-side side case. With a single key you can operate the locking mechanism that closes as well as locks the cases into place on the side case holder. Thanks to a mounted handle (with more room in this EVO version) on each side, you can effortlessly carry these cases to and from your motorcycle.
Each case is equipped with a safety lock and is splashproof. The Trekker Outback EVOs are attached and locked quickly and easily onto a motorcycle-specific mounting set. This mounting can only be secured with a PL-CAM-rack. These racks are heavier than the regular PL racks and have been equipped with the Cam-Side mounting system. You can find them here.
This case has a series of optional accessories:
- Inner bag: due to its complex construction, the Outback case is not guaranteed to be waterproof. The T506 waterproof inner bag is. An inner bag also ensures greater comfort. If you want to check in at a hotel, you don't have to take the entire case to the room. Just take out the inner bag (with everything inside) and you're ready to go...
- Stainless steel thermal drinks bottle: real adventurers are sometimes thirsty too. With the holder E162 you can attach up to two thermal drinking bottles to the side of this Outback top case.
- Security lock: This case is already equipped with a security lock as standard. Got multiple cases? Replace all the locks on all the cases and lock them all with the same key.
- Reflective stickers: to make you more visible in the dark, a set of E145 reflective stickers is available. In vertical position, they fit perfectly on the flattened corners of these cases.
- Cargo bag: on top of this Outback Trekker, an additional cargo bag GRT714B or EA120 can be mounted with a set of tension straps S351. Besides the GRT714B, there's another cargo bag available: the XL01B.
- Plastic Jerrycan: a water, oil or petrol supply of 2.5l can be carried in the GIVI Jerrycan. With the E205 holder in stainless steel, the Jerry can is easily attached to this Trekker side case.
- Luggage nets: use the space that the trunk lid has to offer inside. Mount a luggage net E144 in it and store many small items. On top of this case, the luggage net T10Z can be easily attached.
- A backpack: T521 with a capacity of 15 litres that can be stored in the upper tray of the case.
- Interior lining: This E203 lining in soft neoprene will keep your luggage and the inside of your cases looking fresh for longer.
Maintenance tips:
Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
