Tailock? We guess that’s a Tanklock ‘for the tail’? Which isn’t too far off. Although this EA146 Tailock of the Easy T type might just as well serve as a full-blown soft top case.
This storage bag could even – in theory – replace a tankbag, if it wasn’t just a tad too big. Thanks to the separately available GIVI S430 universal Tanklock attachment, it’s best to go for the comfortable roll bag as saddle bag or other soft luggage solution in the back. However, the method is well-known and familiar: Tanklock. Whoever starts using it, rarely stops using it.
The EA146 is an almost perfect geometric cube with 36 x 34 x 27 centimetre dimensions providing a compact blocky shape. The central compartment can contain 23 litres and although it’s accessible (partly) from the side as it is through the central zip with double pulls, it remains one large central storage space. The side opening on the right does grant access to a separate compartment that uses up space from the central partition. The side opening on the left offers a slender storage compartment suitable for documents or small things. Handle on the one side, back support on the other… Yes, indeed, a soft backrest that also stores the fluorescent yellow rain cover.
Can you fit a motorcycle helmet in this soft top case? Possibly a small jet helmet but let’s just conclude that that is not the best or most ideal use of the EA146.
The EA146 saddle bag is a member of the GIVI Easy T family, which shows by the technical, wear-resistant material (1200D) and the fluorescent white ‘piping’. These are comfortable, convenient, urban motorcycle bags that are perfectly suitable for commuters, scooters or even a weekend trip.
