There’s a lot to explain about these heated motorcycle gloves. The Progress 2.0 is the absolute pinnacle and carries the very best features Macna has to offer.
These heated motorcycle gloves were given a laminated Raintex Direct membrane, making them possibly even more waterproof than they were before. Water stays on the very outside, preventing you from travelling with non-dry, sopping motorcycle gloves. The Progress 2.0’s waterproofness reaches all the way to and including the double cuff which in turn reaches up to half of your forearm and can be tightened internally with a drawstring. Add the comfortable thermal lining and the message is clear: comfort, warmth and dry hands – all common elements for the Progress 2.0.
The exterior is a combination of textile, goatskin and Armax protective material. This unique construction eliminates the use for seams in the critical areas, such as the knuckles and fingers – the weakest links – increasing wear-resistance and hence, safety. A number of sturdy TPR protectors on the cuff and palm of the hand together with the shock-absorbing EVA protection at the thumb create a motorcycle glove that can take a beating.
Both the thumb and little finger have been ergonomically constructed. Ergothumb Technology signifies that the thumb and index finger are constructed of one and the same piece of fabric. This again reduces the need for seams, prevents pressure points and provides a wrinkle-free look. The seams on the outside of the little finger (i.e. pinkie) are strategically placed so to avoid pressure points (called Ergopink).
The remarkable buckle of the wrist closure is pointed in an ergonomically optimised angle of 30 degrees, allowing for optimal mobility of the wrist. The reflective material is called Night Eye and it enhances your visibility at the right times.
In this version, the Progress 2.0 by Macna is delivered with the 12V 3A batteries and battery charger. The Dual Power Technology by Macna, however, leaves you free to choose, so the Progress 2.0 might as well be powered through a cable running from your motorcycle battery. It all depends on what you want, find practical, is most useful and the capacity and usage time you require. You can find these motorcycle gloves without the batteries and charger here.
Loose batteries offer more freedom but you run the risk of them losing charge, while a cabled solution is literally connected to the motorcycle with a warranty of endless power supply. Battery-wise in the Macna universe, in ascending order of performance, you get to choose between 7,4V 2,2A, 7,4V 3A and 12V 3A.
This version comes standard with the most high-performing battery pack.
If you opt for the cabled solution, then you’ll need at least one power cable (directly from the motorcycle battery, via a DIN plug (BMW) or a 12-V cigarette plug) and a double connection cable. You connect the first cable to the motorcycle battery, while the second one splits the power between the motorcycle gloves. That connection cable can be replaced by the Macna Nucleo or the Macna Ascent.
As you can tell, it takes a little consideration going for heated gloves, deliberating the most accurate system and its use, best matching your particular circumstances. After that, you’re off for a very enjoyable motorcycle experience. There are four heating levels, each indicated in their own colour by means of the battery level indicator. The indicator on the back of the hand also shows how much power you have left and allows you to change the level by simply pressing it.

Technology is always advancing. The Progress 2.0 motorcycle gloves use Bluetooth to be connected to the Macna HEATED-app (Android and iOS compatible). Attention: upon installing the app, it will request location permission. If you refuse, there might be connection issues between the app and the device. If you prefer less Bluetooth connectivity, then you can also use the Progress 2.0 with the traditional button.
The app can be used without having to remove your motorcycle gloves, thanks to the Touch Tip on the index finger. That same finger is also equipped with a visor wiper.
Seen as there are electronic parts inside these motorcycle gloves, it’s evident that they can’t be washed in the washing machine. It’s okay to wash them by hand, on condition that you hand-dry the connectors with a hair blower afterwards.
