The Suburb Air by DAINESE carries just about all of its qualities and favourite application areas in its name. This is an ankle-high, urban summer motorcycle shoe. Maximum comfort on and next to the motorbike, in a charming shell.
The Suburb Air is a comfortable, contemporary motorcycle shoe. Stylish and closely related to ‘regular’ sneakers and hence equally ideal for travelling on two wheels or without wheels. That in both cases temperatures can be soaring, is pretty clear. The Suburb Air has a mesh lining. The exterior is made of microfibre and textile, and excels in lightness and breathing properties. Everything shows that waterproofness is not a criterium so having expectations in that regard is quite pointless.
However, this is a sturdy motorcycle shoe, in the sense that it has a certain – necessary – rigidity. Don’t expect any cups, plates or other ‘heavy’ impact protection: lightness is what DAINESE is after here, and they do it in the most pleasant and comfortable way. And with an eye for detail, which you might suspect from a brand like DAINESE.
The Groundtrax sole is asymmetrical and if you look closely, you’ll notice how the brake was given a different contact panel than the gear lever. This creates the right grip and stability in the right place, states DAINESE. Right above the sole, the Ortholite footbed ensures additional damping and high breathability for extra comfort. The laces and pull tab in the back shouldn’t be a problem when used correctly.
You tuck away the lace ends behind the elasticated band on the tongue of the Suburb Air, right below the speed demon that makes the Suburb Air clearly recognisable for all DAINESE fans.
There are specific models and versions of the Suburb motorcycle shoe for women and there’s a waterproof variety.
You’d better take precautions, give yourself a hand or a foot in this case and add an extra layer to your leather motorcycle shoe or your gear lever. There are a number of options available in our range.
