The DAINESE Axial 2 is – you guessed it – not the first in its kind. The principle of the Axial D1 has been kept which makes that it also maintains the feeling that the bottom half is sturdier and more robust than the shaft and everything above the ankle. Don’t be fooled. This idea is purely appearance. The DAINESE Axial 2 consists of an inner construction that offers your foot, ankle and half of your lower leg maximum protection. The biomechanics involved create a safe and comfortable cocoon. A direct part of this is the impact protection, which means that the outer layer of the boot can manage with a number of external magnesium sliders.
The biomechanical inner boot constitutes the heart of the Axial 2 and is perfectly aligned with the exterior. This means that these components always need to be used together. The inner boot acts as a type of brace or exoskeleton. You might suspect otherwise but the Axial 2 is really easy to get into. A pull tab and the right amount of Velcro help shape this motorcycle boot perfectly around your lower leg while the outer cocoon can be opened and closed in the back with a zip running over the entire length of the boot. More specifically: almost the entire length because it stops right above the stylishly incorporated TPU heel with obligatory speed demon and perfectly matching the exchangeable, replaceable, renewable toe slider. The third slider can be found on the outside of the heel and can be replaced with the supplied Allen key, the fourth one is placed on the ankle. Lots of curbstone potential in this motorcycle boot!
The entire Axial 2 is composed of a mixture of wear-resistant, robust materials and fabrics. Textile, mainly, but of the sturdy kind. Kevlar, microfibre, visible and invisible protective panels … Highly-performing parts on their own, of the highest when combined.
