The IXS 912 1.0 is a very budget-friendly full-face helmet by IXS. It has all the essentials and more, all at a very sharp price. The IXS 912 1.0 also complies with the most recent ECE 22.06 criteria. There’s nothing to bargain here.
The IXS 912 1.0 comes in two different motorcycle helmet shells for the end consumer. These contain the different helmet sizes and always deliver a tight and compact whole. Both EPS formats (the buffer underneath the helmet shell) evidently contribute to a motorcycle helmet that seems to be just right and never over the top. The scales read 1,500 grams – or a little less – which isn’t all too bad for a complete full-face helmet.
Complete here means that this IXS 912 1.0 comes with a transparent visor as well as an integrated sun visor, nose and breath deflectors, removable, washable and comfortable cheek pads and lining which are easy to maintain and an excellent micrometric closure.
The transparent visor is ready to be fitted with a Pinlock lens and thanks to the quick change system you can easily interchange the whole shebang. It might seem obvious that the panorama view is wide and the visor is scratch-free but that is not always the case in this price range.
The IXS 912 1.0 has operational top and chin ventilation which are pretty accentuated and that contribute to the sporty style of this full-face helmet.
In some countries (e.g., France) it is compulsory to have reflective stickers on your helmet. The iXS912 is delivered without these reflective stickers. Reflective sticker sets can be found here.
Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and visor cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
