The Trekker Outback EVO takes it one step further, picking up where the ‘regular’ Trekker Outback left off. So, it’s still familiar grounds, with a number of additions.
This GIVI Trekker Outback EVO top case is part of the Monokey series and can only be used as a top case. Its 42-litre capacity is plenty for a standard size of a pretty compact top case. Should you want to store two modular helmets, it’s best to skip forward to the Trekker Outback EVO of 58 litres. If a little less is fine, then this Trekker Outback EVO of 42 litres is a perfect choice.
Thanks to handles running in bearings (so, more space in this EVO version) on each side of the case, you carry it from and to the motorcycle with no effort. There’s a black aluminium version while the traditional clean aluminium edition is still an option. The Trekker Outback range has a number of different sizes of top and side cases to assemble your own set to your liking.
What’s different – hence, what has evolved? The four ratchet strap holders on top of the cases have become a bit more refined in this EVO version, thanks to an improved version of the plastic element that was introduced earlier (the 2018 update). The GIVI print-in-relief on the top case has been changed a little again, looking more modern. The handles are wider in order to be comfortable with motorcycle gloves. The hinge is a very nice update because you can now adjust the resistance when opening and closing the case, in function of what you think is pleasant and useful: the lid will stay open anyway, if you want it to.
Every case is equipped with a safety lock and is splashproof. The Trekker Outback EVO is easily clicked and locked into place on a mounting kit that has been developed for your motorcycle specifically.
There are a number of optional accessories for this case:
- Inner bag: due to its complex construction, an Outback suitcase is not guaranteed to be waterproof. The T511 waterproof inner bag is. An inner bag also provides increased comfort. If you want to check in at a hotel, you don't have to take the entire case to the room. Simply remove the inner bag (with everything inside) from your case and you're ready to go...
- Back support: your passenger will certainly prefer the soft back support XE241 to the hard case.
- Stainless steel thermal drinks bottle: real adventurers are sometimes thirsty. With the E199 holder you attach to the side of this Outback topcase up to two thermal stainless steel drinking bottles.
- Security lock: this case is already equipped with a security lock as standard. Got multiple cases? Replace all the locks on all the cases and lock them all with the same key.
- Luggage net: use the space inside the lid to your advantage. Install a luggage net E168 and store lots of small items in it. On top of this case, the luggage net T10N or S351can easily be attached.
- A backpack: T521 with a capacity of 15 liters that can be stored in the upper tray of the case.
- Lining: this E202 lining in soft neoprene keeps your luggage and the inside of your suitcase looking fresh for longer.
- Trolley: with the trolley E206, your top case suddenly becomes easier to transport.
- Handle: this E185 handle makes your top case suddenly easier to carry.
Maintenance tips: because this case is made of untreated aluminum, it requires a little more maintenance than a case made of plastic. For cleaning of these cases, we recommend S100 Moto Wash. NEVER use maintenance products that contain acids or other acidic agents. Such products cause dark stains which are very difficult to remove.
Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
