The SCORPION VX-16 Evo Air is an entry-level motocross helmet for the price-conscious enduro or motocross fan. Or for the more hooligan-style riders, because all the features and options you’d expect from a motorcycle helmet of this type, are there.
This tight, sharp motocross helmet complies with all the requirements for the ECE R22.06 certification.
Two motorcycle helmet shells divide the different helmet sizes, ensuring a relative compactness. ‘Relative’, because a motocross helmet needs volume and always looks bigger with sun peak and forward protruding chin piece. The latter helps you breathe throughout major efforts and truth be told, Scorpion developed the nose and chin piece in such a way that suggests that lack of oxygen will never be an option. Which is good because you usually have enough of that when you prefer this type of motorcycle helmet. The polycarbonate helmet shell provides a relatively low weight that stays below 1,500 grams.
Visually, this SCORPION VX-16 Evo Air meets all the expectations: mesh, sharp lines, a handsome chin piece, a wide opening that can easily fit proper motorcycle goggles and a sun peak that can be replaced or removed without major operations or tools. The breath deflector brings us to the inside of this off-road motorcycle helmet, which means we’ll have to discuss Airfit and Kwikwick®. An inflatable cheek pad system ensures an outstanding customised fit while the execution and materials are also on point: soft, hypoallergenic, removable and washable.
All the way at the bottom, this excellent motorcycle helmet ends in a soft and finished Double-D ring closure. You can add a five-year warranty to that, knowing that things cannot go wrong with this. You’ll be safe, at least until the first hurdle.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
