There are a number of options to fix luggage to a motorcycle. One of the most practical – and reliable – options is the combination of a traditional, adjustable strap and a robust elasticated strap, separated by a quick-release. You attach both components by means of a lasso loop, or a hook on your motorcycle to then use the quick-release and tighten as needed.
These (large) Atlas B-Clip straps are 26 mm wide and 1.2 metres long. They come in pairs because hooking something up with a double attachment is always safer than one.
The Microlock buckle is solid (plastic) but is usually placed on top of the luggage. The lasso loops eliminate the use of hooks or any other solid components that could damage your motorcycle (or eye, when unhitched). The straps radiate solidity and safety.
‘Stronger than a bungee’, says Oxford and we believe them.
The design (flat) as well as the quick release buckle simplify the use of these Atlas B-Clip straps. The elasticated part guarantees a constant tension. Every strap can be adjusted length-wise apart from the fact that there are a number of standard lengths, widths and sizes available.
In practice
Attach both ends to the motorcycle with a lasso loop. Position the luggage and close the quick release buckle. Tighten. You’re good to go! This offers many possibilities. You choose the attachments points yourself. Damage and scratches are a thing of the past, just like corrosion, rust or other issues (all too often) related to placing an extra roll bag onto your motorcycle.
Available sizes
There are two lengths and two widths available. These Atlas B-Clip straps 26 mm wide are available in lengths of 1.2 metres as well as 2 metres. They always come in pairs, so that’ll take you quite far already.
Their baby brothers – well, ‘slimmer’ brothers – are 17 mm wide. Again, with lengths of 1.2 and 2 metres, you are offered a number of sturdy and decent luggage solutions.
