This brake and clutch lever lock is an update which primarily means that the Oxford LeverLock now comes with a deafening alarm. The 120 dB are almost as loud as police sirens or a person screaming from the top of their lungs right into your ear. Bad for your ear drums, excellent for your motorcycle.
It’s hard to miss or mislead this motion-sensitive LeverLock Alarm, even with the option of simply engaging the lock without the alarm.
A front brake lever or clutch lever lock like this one has a few benefits – you can’t forget it because it’s visible and still compact – but in this version, the alarm sound is its main asset. The alarm uses a (supplied) CR2 lithium battery which you will need to replace in time, of course.
This LeverLock Alarm has a waterproof (IP67) casing and two recesses clearly show what this is for: as long as the diameter of your grip is somewhere between 28 and 38 mm, it all works out easily. You place the large opening over your handgrip, the smaller one serves to lock the brake or clutch lever, making it impossible to drive off in a jiffy.
Attention: hand guards are in the way of the lock so this isn’t all that useful for large adventure and motocross bikes. In order to lock the lock, you simply push it in. No issue so far. But then, you need to get the key into the keyhole to unlock it – that’s where hand guards are a problem.
Just like all Oxford locks, this LeverLock Alarm also comes with three keys.
