‘Back to basics’, must have been MODEKA’s idea. Or: ‘How do turtles solve this issue?’
This Shell Pack by MODEKA is a so-called hardshell backpack. The outside effectively acts like the shell from a turtle, protecting the contents underneath the hard, preshaped base this backpack has derived its name from. This has a number of benefits: the water-repellent exterior is hard yet aerodynamic – like some sort of ‘super-hump’ – neatly hiding all the flapping, fluttering, loose bits.
The zipper that gives access to the central storage compartment is situated at the back. It opens for 75% and because the remaining 25% is at the base, you get easy access to the compartmentalised back of the Shell Pack.. The total available storage capacity is 15 litres.
This, you notice, unless you have a set of decent, padded, adjustable shoulder straps to neatly divide the weight. Any motorcycle backpack worthy of that name should have an adjustable chest strap (in height and in girth) and in this case, MODEKA also provided a waist strap. All these elements combined allow for this Shell Pack to sit as comfortably as the shell of a turtle.
