The second, revised version of this light and price-conscious motorcycle jacket is waterproof and perfect for daily use, with a sporty style (even more than the original version) and a versatile nature. Seemingly simple yet technically on point. Look no further: the Alpinestars Stella T-SPS V2.
This ‘Stella’ – star – is only used when referring to the shining ladies of the motorcycle world, which is why Alpinestars – the stars of the Alpes – uses this reference to link to the specific models designed for lady bikers.
Compared to the first version, the silhouette of this V2 leans even more towards the sporty side. Don’t be fooled, though: the Stella T-SPS V2 is still a comfortable textile motorcycle jacket, not a leather racing motorcycle jacket. The chassis – the exterior – is made of 600 Denier polyester with a dual layer of polyurethane. Every attentive lady motorcyclist (read: all of them) have noticed the 600 D which is quite typical to appear in the first paragraph of motorcycle jacket descriptions, and with good reason. It’s wear and tear-resistant; an excellent base layer. You can never have too many wear-resistant properties and in this case, the result is a stunning – and light! – motorcycle jacket.
Light as in: easy to store away, not hindering, without too many frills. Not as in: limited usability. Quite the contrary, the Stella T-SPS V2 Waterproof is – obviously – waterproof, thanks to the integrated polyester membrane. If you do feel cold during your ride, you simply put the removable thermal lining (80 grams) to work. There’s ventilation too, provided by the two ventilation openings with zip underneath the armpit.
In motorcycle jacket terms, this will get you quite far already, especially when you are not riding to the North Cape or the equator. Its price is an absolute asset, as well. Alpinestars has earned its name and visually as well as with regard to specifics, the second version of the Stella T-SPS Waterproof is more than on point. There aren’t too many individual adjustment options: tight and sporty, as it should. Two slash pockets with zip and a couple of inner pockets will help you out with regard to storage. Not towards the North Cape or the equator, though.
Alpinestars’ in-house Nucleon Flex Plus armour impact protection on shoulders and elbows are never excessive but adequately performant, while being light at the same time. You can easily fit in an optional Nucleon Level 1 and/or Nucleon Level 2 Back Protector, and there’s the option to fit in chest protectors. The Alpinestars Stella T-SPS V2 is Tech-Air ready.
The low collar and overall shaping serve as comfort enhancers.
Price to quality ratio, this is without a doubt a top product.
