They don’t get much sleeker than this HJC V10. This lightweight, clean full-face helmet with ECE 22.06 certification takes you all the way back to the previous century, to legendary car and motorcycle races, to adventure. And then again, it doesn’t at all because the HJC V10 offers all the contemporary comfort you as demanding motorcyclist would expect from a decent full-face helmet.
The outer shell of the HJC V10 is made of advanced fibreglass composite. Those words are heavier than the helmet itself because the result is light and compact. You don’t even need to know too much about aerodynamics to (rightfully) assume that this full-face helmet limits air resistance to a minimum.
The round shape is retro, vintage or whatever you want to call it, without futuristic spoilers, protrusions and top ventilation. Nonetheless, that ventilation is present, hiding in the unibrow over the transparent visor. ‘Transparent’, indeed. Many cool images and picture material suggest otherwise but the HJC V10 comes standard with a HJ-41, clear, Pinlock®-ready visor. The Pinlock®-lens (DKS476) is included, by the way, neatly stacked in the same box. Not that the absence of a (wide) transparent visor should have to be a dealbreaker at all, because changing them is faster than a bike swap during a MotoGP and requires no tools at all.
We haven’t even mentioned its most remarkable visual feature yet: the sixfold, mesh chin ventilation is hard to miss and particularly emphasised by the shape of the chin guard. This is what really exudes that retro vibe.
Then again, the shape is pleasantly modern and it stays that way thanks to the replaceable, removable and especially, washable inner lining and cheek pads. So, this HJC V10 is comfortable too.
The tight lines that we have grown accustomed to so fast, run all the way to the bottom, where a double D-ring closure is still the chosen way of buckling an actual motorcycle helmet.
Reflective stickers are mandatory in France (and certain other countries).

- Reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet, only to have it washed? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and Visor Cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
