The Paneo LT is a stylish, laminated 2-in-1 motorcycle jacket with an autonomously wearable thermal jacket and wide ventilation panels. This covers everything, turning this lightweight all-rounder into a very interesting motorcycle jacket. Modeka manages to climb comfortably to the higher – and especially, very reliable – market segment of the lightweight, comfortable touring combinations.
We haven’t used the term ‘enjoyable’ yet but the exterior made of Tactel is exactly that: this Paneo LT feels like cotton so don’t expect any rough and hard fabrics and materials associated with most motorcycle jackets. The Paneo LT, with its Tactel exterior and laminated Humax membrane, belongs to the absolute top in the field of waterproofness. When a motorcycle jacket is laminated, water can’t find a way in, it won’t weigh the jacket down and everything will dry up a lot quicker after a rain shower. And contrary to many other laminated motorcycle jackets – that have a hard time hiding that extra layer – the Paneo LT is still a very flexible, light and comfortable motorcycle jacket.
The standard is waterproofness, so the other extreme – burning hot and sunny – might be a bit more difficult. Not in this case. Thanks to the AirVent ventilation openings, wide AirBoost mesh panels on the chest and an AirZip behind the central zipper, the Paneo LT can offer many ventilation options. It goes without saying that each and every one of them can be covered and closed as easily as you open and use them.
Between the standard and the extreme, there’s the autonomously wearable thermal jacket, which has been finished neatly and with an eye for detail. The zipped slash pockets and the logo emphasise once again how this thermal layer can be used as a standalone jacket.
You get a little play with some of the customisation options (centring in the flank and straps on the upper arms), however, due to the laminated construction and the well-structured thermal layer, things are a little tighter. The flexible button on the collar is definitely a bonus on a motorcycle jacket you can and want to wear all-year-round.
The touring cut – three-quarter length motorcycle jacket – is not particularly long. This cut does, however, offer lots of storage space: two wide pockets in the front (Velcro) that double as slash pockets (button), more storage options on the inside and an ID pocket on the forearm.
B-PROTECT provides the necessary impact protection. Shoulders and elbows are standard equipped with CE-certified protectors. Chest protection is optional, as is the CE-certified back protector. Evidently, the Paneo LT has reflective material.
The Paneo LT motorcycle jacket is part of a combination, and of course the motorcycle trousers with the same name are a seamless match.
