The new aluminium Outback EVO side cases are sold WITHOUT Smart Security Lock. Without a lock? Yes, indeed. You buy and fit the locks separately. But there’s no need to worry: all of this is effortless because the system was designed for this. GIVI went for the innovative, safe and secure ‘Smart Security Lock’ because it is a sure way to handle your complete Outback EVO motorcycle case set with a single key.
Evidently, the Outback EVO motorcycle cases have retained all their household properties, linking convenience to durability. The typical, rectangular shape is synonymous to portions of adventure and quality is always guaranteed. So is splashproofness which is not the same as 100% waterproofness!
Compared to earlier (recent) Outback versions, these EVO side cases celebrate the return of the Hold it Active System. This ensures that the side cases cannot clash to the ground when they are unhitched from their holder. It’s not that they cannot take that but it’s still a welcome improvement. You could say the same of the stainless-steel lid that can be rotated to move to one side as well as be completely unhinged.
What is new is an added safety in the form of an internal handle, preventing unwanted removal of the side cases and a safety button that ensures that the lid can always be locked, even when you don’t put the lock in that position yourself. Not coincidentally, those are a lot of Smart Security Lock changes. The reinforced corners of the Outback EVO side cases also received an update while all mounting options for accessories and extra luggage remained intact. The handles are sturdier, the logo in relief a little more pronounced.
The Outback EVO side case comes in two sizes and two finishes, natural aluminium or black, with of course always a left and a right-sided case.
This case has a series of optional accessories:
- Inner bag: Due to its complex construction, an Outback case is not guaranteed to be waterproof. The T507 waterproof inner bag is. An inner bag also ensures greater comfort. If you want to check in at a hotel, you don't have to take the entire case to the room. Simply remove the inner bag (with everything inside) from your suitcase and you're ready to go...
- Stainless steel thermal drinks bottle: real adventurers are sometimes thirsty too. With the holder E199 you can attach up to two thermal drinking bottles to the side of this Outback side case .
- Security lock: This case is already equipped with a security lock as standard. Got multiple cases? Replace all the locks on all the cases and lock them all with the same key.
- Reflective stickers: To make you more visible in the dark, a set of E145 reflective stickers is available. In vertical position, they fit perfectly on the flattened corners of these cases.
- Cargo bag: on top of this Outback Trekker, an additional cargo bag GRT714B or EA120 can be mounted with a set of tension straps S351. Besides the GRT714B, there's another kart bag available: the XL01B.
- Plastic Jerrycan: a water, oil or petrol supply of 2.5l can be carried in the GIVI Jerrycan. With the E205 holder in stainless steel, the Jerrycan is easily attached to this Trekker side case.
- Extra grip: that the Outback 48l is a tough guy does not need a story. The extra handle E143 makes transporting this case a lot easier.
- Luggage nets: use the space that the case has to offer inside. Fit a luggage net E144 and store lots of small items in it. On top of the case, the luggage net T10N can be easily attached.
- A backpack: T521 with a capacity of 15 litres that can be stored in the upper tray of the case.
- Interior lighting: the rechargeable LED lighting E198B with sensor comes in handy when looking for something in your case in the dark.
Care instructions: as this case is made of aluminium, it requires slightly more maintenance than a plastic case. For cleaning these cases we recommend S100 Moto Wash. NEVER use maintenance products that contain acids or other corrosive substances. Such products cause dark stains which are very difficult to remove afterwards.
Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
