The ST-2 Air motorcycle jacket is a soft, breathable motorcycle jacket. The ST stands for 'sport' and 'touring,' elements that are evident in its design, though there’s also quite a bit of ‘adventure’ influence.
The ST-2 Air appears to be made for summer touring adventures and is designed to provide superior airflow and protection while on the move. This is achieved in a sleek, modern design. Large sections of the body and nearly the entire arm benefit from mesh panels, aiming to keep you cool and comfortable. The second goal is also effortlessly achieved, thanks to the soft material choices in various areas. This doesn’t mean Alpinestars has skimped on quality; in critical areas (arms and elbows), you still feel the hardwearing qualities.
While this is still a fully capable motorcycle jacket, there’s no need for us to spell it out: it’s not water or windproof. It goes without saying, but the complete absence of membranes and extra linings clearly positions this ST-2 Air motorcycle jacket in the 'summer' category.
The cut is clearly touring, the design leans towards adventure, and the sporty element ensures a sufficiently snug fit. It’s slightly longer than a motorcycle racing jacket, but adjustable at the arms and sleeve ends (two times Velcro). The back hides a typical touring storage pocket, and at the front, you have two zippered slash pockets. A Napoleon pocket completes the available storage space.
This summer motorcycle jacket is CE-certified (Class AA), and Alpinestars standardly integrates Nucleon Flex Plus Level 1 elbow and shoulder protectors. A Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2 certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1-certified) is optional, and there’s also space for a (doubled) chest protector. The stripes across the shoulders double as reflective elements.
This motorcycle jacket is prepared to be combined with a Tech-Air airbag jacket.
The ST-2 Air mesh motorcycle jacket comes with a connection zipper. There’s a perfectly compatible pair of ventilated motorcycle trousers available for anyone who wants to complete the set.
