This Sand 5 H2O motorcycle glove is waterproof, adventurous and very versatile. Its foundation – with four previous versions – was already pretty solid so these most recent adaptations are fairly limited.
That’s okay, though. Don’t fix what ain’t broken. And the REV’IT! Sand 5 H2O motorcycle gloves are definitely not that!
With the previous update, it was the waterproof Hydratex membrane that entered the Sand scene, which has remained. There’s an additional layer added to that with the McFit Technology, which ensures your hands stay dry even in wet and slippery conditions, hence, guaranteeing proper grip. The ‘tri fleece push pull’ lining is also new, adding even more comfort to the mix. It’s also clear that this version has been furnished with additional goatskin.
The Sand 5 H2O motorcycle gloves are not the cheapest gloves on the shelf. However, if you are questioning their price, do keep reading. Then take these motorcycle gloves for a trip or two. Your doubts will be out the window in no time. These have definitely levelled up.
The Sand family are an impressive bunch in the REV’IT! range and these waterproof Sand 5 H2O motorcycle gloves fit in like a glove (excuse me). In essence, the differences compared to the ‘regular’ Sand 5 – without the Hydratex membrane – are limited. The cuff of this waterproof version has been extended for a couple of centimetres in order to connect seemingly automatically with the sleeves. This also means that these Sand 5 H2O motorcycle gloves require a more traditional cuff closure: a Velcro strip below the palm and a wider, second Velcro strip on the cuff itself. The tap to pull this motorcycle glove on has already proven its worth.
What’s also different between these related motorcycle gloves is the arsenal of protective gear: the exterior of this Sand 5 H2O is still a good mixture of goatskin and 4-way stretch material. Hardwearing, solid, a little less directed toward ventilation than its non-waterproof namesake but definitely designed by (and for) motorcycle riders. The panels that look like textile contain aramid and the TPR finger protection, TPR palm slider and extra Temperfoam® elements on the fingers all provide a lot of external protection.
It should be clear that everything about this motorcycle glove is of high quality. Functionality, materials, finish levels, an index finger that can operate a touchscreen and the all-round appearance of a seasoned adventurer – this perfectly matches the Sand 5 H2O motorcycle jacket in both style and function.
