The Quantum 3 Air motorcycle jacket is a textile motorcycle jacket for summer. It is a member of quite a lavish family tree, in both versatility and reputation. This Quantum 3 Air is an urban motorcycle jacket that leaves the pure racing world behind, trading it in for comfort and city life.
Well, trading it in … It almost sounds like things have been removed to be replaced with other things. Not really.
Mesh is this version’s superpower and most of this jacket’s exterior is made from it. PWR|Shell is the term used by REV’IT! for the construction that provides airflow in a safe and effective way. In the front, in the back, on the arms – the ballistic mesh delivers a lightweight motorcycle jacket that still offers wear-resistant properties, thanks to the 600HD and 600D in all the critical areas. There’s no need for ventilation openings, nor for an additional thermal lining. This is a motorcycle jacket that has distinctly been designed for summer.
The cut of the Quantum 3 Air motorcycle jacket is a ‘textile’ one. Its shorter, sharper, leather racing relatives will grab firm hold of you while this mesh motorcycle jacket gives you a soft embrace. Just enough to realise you are cruising around in a genuine motorcycle jacket without ever thinking you are wearing too much.
The design radiates speed although the distance between this Quantum 3 Air motorcycle jacket and the full-bred racing suit it derives from is starting to become a little larger. What had already disappeared was the leather, and the markings are more neutral. The obvious link that remains is the TPU shoulder slider.
Obviously, impact protection is still on par. SEESMART Level 1 CE protectors on the shoulders and elbows come standard. If you want to, you can fit in a SEESOFT CE level 2 back protector. One step lower than racing protection, which shows on the price tag.
The sleeve ends were given a dash of Velcro, just like the adjustment options in the waist. To adjust the upper arm fit, REV’IT! went for press studs. There’s reflective material too but since REV’IT! is not really a fan of ‘too conspicuous’, it uses subtle elements, such as the logo and the name.
A mesh motorcycle jacket like this one demands to be combined with proper motorcycle jeans, which is emphasised by the belt loops.
