The Quantum 3 H2O motorcycle jacket is a comfortable, waterproof, urban variation to the sporty Quantum concept that still has a couple of versions dangling from the voluptuous family tree.
This Quantum 3 H2O is less racy and more urban than, let’s say, the (mesh) Quantum 3 Air – which makes it more versatile. The waterproof element and the hood – removable of course – contribute to that broad usability. Contrary to some of its brothers-in-arms that lean more toward the racetrack, the Quantum 3 H2O is a textile motorcycle jacket – quite the difference.
In this third evolution, the waterproof element still comes from the Hydratex membrane that has been integrated between the exterior (600HD and 600D ripstop polyester) and the mesh lining. The removable thermal lining opens the doors to spring and fall.
The design visually moderates the speed and aggression somewhat. A conscious choice, aimed towards a younger and more urban audience. You wear the Quantum 3 H2O motorcycle jacket to be the spectator of a motorcycle race; not a contestant. Something like that. The Quantum 3 H2O motorcycle jacket is more than ever your daily travel companion. Stop thinking hump – leather – tight. Think removable hood, slash pockets with zipper, removable thermal lining and a little bit more space. This jacket still loves to embrace you – without squeezing you.
The external references that clearly shout ‘racing’ are omitted by REV’IT! – which doesn’t mean that the Quantum 3 H2O has made any compromises in the field of safety: SEESMART Level 1 CE protectors on the shoulders and elbows and an optional SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector, if you want to fit one in. One step lower than racing protection, which shows on the price tag. Just to be clear: one step below racing level is still more than enough for recreational public road use.
The sleeve ends were given a dash of Velcro, just like the adjustment options in the waist. To adjust the upper arm fit, REV’IT! went for press studs. The cut of the Quantum 3 H2O is clearly ‘textile’, just like its predecessor. Their inspiration might come from the tight, leather motorcycle racing suit but in this version, all that has been covered with a thick layer of comfort.
REV’IT! is not really a fan of ‘too reflective’ and uses subtle elements, such as the logo and the name.
With the connecting zip and especially with the two belt loops, you can connect this motorcycle jacket to motorcycle jeans or textile REV’IT! motorcycle trousers if you’re going for the complete look. Hip, trendy, city … We’d prefer proper motorcycle sneakers and motorcycle jeans as the perfect combo.
