The Sand 5 H2O by REV’IT! is once again an evolution of the now well-known flagship. This most recent version of the adventurous motorcycle jacket should contain a little more sportiness and dynamics but because this doesn’t really explain it, we are happy to do it for you in this description of the Sand 5 H2O.
The Sand 5 H2O really lives up to its versatile image. The Sand 5 H2O can be described as an icon and it’s still one of the most complete motorcycle jackets on the market. One of REV’IT!’s longer textile jackets too, although the Dutch men and women still like a short and well-fitting cut. The back is a little longer to avoid a bare back while you’re riding your motorcycle.
Between the Sand 5 H2O and its predecessor, REV’IT! developed the Offtrack 2, a motorcycle jacket that brought about a couple of insights, which resulted in a Sand 5 H2O that is even better than its impressive ancestors. Underneath a solid outer layer made of polyester 600D ripstop and 600HD, the Sand 5 H2O houses a bucketload of high-technology ingenuity. In random order, this includes a breathing, removable Hydratex|3L membrane which ensures a motorcycle jacket that is 100% waterproof. You can wear this membrane over or underneath the actual motorcycle jacket. The fact that the sleeves have a hardwearing layer illustrates how it’s perfectly doable to choose either.
The removable thermal lining can be attached to the outer shell of the motorcycle jacket without the waterproof membrane. That outer shell can hence become the middle shell when you choose to wear the membrane over the motorcycle jacket. Let’s not complicate things: the mixture of possibilities allows many combinations and arrangements. If temperatures soar, then you’ll notice how the ventilation options on the arms and the torso have also improved. The panels on the chest and back are wider than ever, but you can also reduce the opening by half, by means of a well-positioned press stud. Again, you choose. Ventilation zips run over (almost) the entire length of the arms and there’s a ventilation flap behind the central zipper that creates another vertical ventilation opening.
Numerous adjustment options, including drawstrings on the hips, an adjustment strap – adjustable in height – in the sides, press studs and Velcro strap on the sleeves, zips at the sleeve ends and the new ‘Flexisnap’ (with press stud instead of a loop) at the collar all allow for endless customisation. If you can’t feel comfortable in the Sand 5 H2O, then you’re probably the one doing something wrong. The centring strap is supplied with a new buckle that won’t change position while you ride.
There’s still plenty of storage space in the Sand 5 H2O. Slash pockets, preceded by closeable pockets are in the front of the motorcycle jacket. They have been redesigned, which could take some getting used to. At least one inner pocket in each layer and a storage compartment in the back complete the picture. The latter has become a true mesh version, which is always better to store wet items.
Furthermore, the Sand 5 H2O is furnished with the award-winning SEEFLEX CE level 2 protectors on the elbows and shoulders. There’s the option to upgrade this motorcycle jacket with a SEESOFT CE level 2 back protector. A laminated, reflective accent on the arms and the back improve visibility in the evening and at night.
The – also updated – Sand 5 H2O motorcycle trousers are the logical partner to create the perfect combination. Thanks to the long and short combination zip, this is quick and easy. Matching motorcycle gloves with the same name absolutely complete the style and outfit.
The Sand 5 H2O can be used in all terrains and under all circumstances, now more than ever.
