The Bratt motorcycle jeans trousers by Modeka are sturdy, contoured tapered regular fit pants that link lots of comfort to decent protection. Exactly what motorcycle jeans are expected to do.
The Bratt is mainly composed of an outer denim layer (50%) combined with the hardwearing Cordura (20%) and Coolmax (20%). The latter indicates that climate control is a theme, as is sturdy protection. Underneath that outer layer – on the knees, the seat and the hips – there are cleverly-positioned Kevlar inserts. Together with the exterior, they are responsible for the Bratt’s class AAA certification.
To put this in perspective: AAA is the same classification as motorcycle track suits, hence, the highest class of protective material.
Nonetheless, the motorcycle jeans trousers appear to be ‘regular’ jeans pants. The five obligatory pockets and the traditional zip-and-button accentuate this. Holding the Bratt motorcycle jeans out in front of you does seem to show a gap the size of a motorcycle between the pant legs. The preshaped cut helps to create maximum comfort in that typical, most logical sitting position on a motorcycle.
You can detect the FLYING BATS protectors on the hips and on the knees. Better yet, they are perceptible to the point of knowing they’re there while their flexibility makes sure they stay very comfortable during the ride. The Velcro strips on the inside of the motorcycle jeans, at the knees, allow you to perfectly position the knee protectors.
The tapered regular fit means that the Bratt sticks to pant legs that at the bottom are almost as wide as at the top. You’ll need to measure it to know it. By the way, flipping over the bottom of the pant leg will expose an additional reflective element.
