This competitively-priced, entry-level and sporty motorcycle jacket is a versatile companion. This embodies the essence of a motorcycle jacket: waterproof, with a removable thermal lining, adequate protection and not too many frills.
The cut is clearly derived from the sporty motorcycle racing world: short and tight. Just to be clear, this is not of the same level as a full-blown (leather) motorcycle racing jacket. This has been covered with a textile layer of civilisation. More specifically, the Fibrex on the shoulders and chest is a coated material. It provides comfort and versatility, because underneath that first layer lies the integrated Raintex membrane. The (removable) thermal lining completes the package.
The lack of ventilation zips and openings – and the integrated Raintex membrane – illustrate that the Tazar 2.0 is not a motorcycle jacket for high-summer. The customisation options focus primarily on the collar, sleeves and the waist, all by means of Velcro.
Impact protection is at the level you might expect from Macna: RISC level 1 protectors on the shoulders and elbows come standard. If you want to fit in a CE-certified back protector, you can integrate it easily.
By this description, the Tazar 2.0 comes across as a simple motorcycle jacket. It is, although with the addition of the Easy cuff system that uses zips instead of loops and press studs to keep all the different layers inside the sleeves in check, its level of comfort is pretty high.
It’s logical to combine this motorcycle jacket with proper motorcycle jeans – or a pair of Macna motorcycle trousers, obviously.
