Attention: this version does not include batteries.
The Rafino RTX motorcycle glove by Macna is a waterproof, electrically heated motorcycle glove with long cuffs, a goatskin palm and EXO R.I.S.C. protection on the knuckles. The latter looks quite adventurous and the hollowed-out, hexagonal structure also warrants high breathability and lots of flexibility.
The Rafino RTX motorcycle glove is waterproof thanks to the integrated Raintex membrane. It has a comfortable thermal lining and adequate insulation to keep heat in.
A combination of textile, softshell and leather is always a warranty for a solid motorcycle glove. The palm of the Rafino RTX is reinforced with an additional layer of goatskin to provide more wear-resistance and loads of grip. The hand palm protector is made of carbon TPR that provides pre-shock absorption in case of need. These motorcycle gloves are cleverly constructed with regard to ergonomics, with the Ergothumb Technology connecting thumb and index finger with one and the same piece of fabric, reducing the need for seams, preventing pressure points all the while providing a clean look.
The long cuff is supplied with an integrated outlet for rainwater. With this system, Macna prevents moisture accumulating between the membrane and the outer layer of the motorcycle glove. The Water Exhaust 2.0 also prevents the Rafino RTX from becoming cold and wet, which could hamper the heating capabilities. The 30° buckle at the wrist strap enables optimal freedom of movement and Night Eye is the name of the reflective material that enhances your visibility at the right times.
In this version, the Rafino RTX by Macna is delivered WITHOUT batteries or a battery charger. There’s also a package that includes everything.
The idea behind that is that not everyone will want to purchase the batteries and charger. The Dual Power Technology by Macna also leaves you free to choose between a 7.4 and a 12 Volt power supply, so the Rafino RTX might as well be powered through a cable running from your motorcycle battery. It all depends on what you want, find practical, is most useful and the capacity and usage time you require.
Loose batteries offer more freedom but you run the risk of them losing charge, while a cabled solution is literally connected to the motorcycle with a warranty of endless power supply. Battery-wise, in ascending order of performance, you get to choose between 7,4V 2,2A, 7,4V 3A and 12V 3A.
If you opt for the cabled solution, then you’ll need at least one power cable (directly from the motorcycle battery, via a DIN plug (BMW) or a 12-V cigarette plug) and a double connection cable. You connect the first cable to the motorcycle battery, while the second one splits the power between the motorcycle gloves. That connection cable can be replaced by the Macna Nucleo or the Macna Ascent.
As you can tell, it takes a little consideration going for heated gloves, deliberating the most accurate system and its use, best matching your particular circumstances. After that, you’re off for a very enjoyable motorcycle experience. There are four heating levels, each indicated in their own colour by means of the battery level indicator. The indicator on the back of the hand also shows how much power you have left and allows you to change the level by simply pressing it.

Technology is always advancing. The Rafino RTX motorcycle gloves use Bluetooth to be connected to the Macna HEATED-app (Android and iOS compatible). Attention: upon installing the app, it will request location permission. If you refuse, there might be connection issues between the app and the device. If you prefer less Bluetooth connectivity, then you can also use the Rafino RTX with the traditional button.
The app can be used without having to remove your motorcycle gloves, thanks to the Touch Tip on the index finger. That same finger is also equipped with a visor wiper.
Seen as there are electronic parts inside these motorcycle gloves, it’s evident that they can’t be washed in the washing machine. It’s okay to wash them by hand, on condition that you hand-dry the connectors with a hair blower afterwards.
