This helmet comes standard with a clear visor. Tinted and mirrored visors are available as options
The second (II) version of the SCORPION EXO-1400 EVO II Air is part of an impressive list of types and versions, which is therefore also sharp, aggressive and with just about all the SCORPION features on board. Two stingers in the logo, an overwhelming urge to perform and visually superpowered, this is a full-face helmet that is also a style choice.
Or it can be. The SCORPION EXO-1400 EVO II Air has been given a fibreglass helmet shell and three different helmet shells neatly contain every helmet size. At SCORPION, this translates mainly to a narrower helmet shell with aerodynamic accents all over. And weighing just 1425g, which is excellent for a full-face helmet with two visors. The composite shell (TCT) uses different fibres with specific properties to come to the best possible result.
This logical, CE 22.06-certified evolution of the original EXO-1400 EVO Air has been given a redesigned and lower positioned rear spoiler and the rubber seal between the motorcycle helmet and the visor has become thicker – which means: better. These details are only for the absolute connoisseurs, and for an improved motorcycle helmet experience.
You still operate the double chin ventilation easily with one relatively large slider, with or without motorcycle gloves. The top ventilation is easy to find as well. The incoming air cools the inside of the helmet and exits through the air outlet in the back. In this second version, this is incorporated in another, better spoiler which is always open. What you can find there, is the subtle name of the SCORPION EXO-1400 EVO II Air, just to make sure that slower riders know you just passed them with top material.
Another feature is the Airfit system by SCORPION. You can inflate the cheek pads at will through an inflation pump in the chin bar. If wanted, the air can be released again through the valve next to the pump.
SCORPION – Asian with a European twist – uses a number of typical words and terms we would to like familiarise you with.
The Ellip Tec II system is the SCORPION name for the visor attachment. The supplied, transparent visor is easy to operate with a central locking mechanism that can be opened almost automatically and very intuitively, and which closes on its own whenever the visor is pulled down sufficiently low. This decent connection should also guarantee a clear vision even in wet circumstances. A Pinlock®-lens with Maxvision comes with the motorcycle helmet.
SCORPION uses the term Speedview as a way to indicate the integrated sun visor. You can find the slider on the left, right behind the hinge point of the transparent visor. Up and down, it doesn’t get any easier.
Kwickwick 3 has to do with the interior: completely removable, washable and hypoallergenic, this helmet interior regulates the internal moisture climate in a way that is more than reassuring. Even in hotter conditions, by the way. When you read the word ‘Kwikfit’ in a text about SCORPION motorcycle helmets, every glasses-wearer sighs with relief: this motorcycle helmet is perfectly suited for that, with cutouts for the temples.
A wide and well-fitting neck rim, the adjustable Double-D ring closure and the ‘emergency’ system that allows you to remove the helmet in case of emergency all illustrate the attention to detail that was put in this helmet. The supplied wind deflector is removable, as is the chin curtain.
Also not to be ignored: 5 years of warranty, if you please.
To maintain this helmet, for the exterior we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner. To clean the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
