The exterior of these ankle-high Saxton GTX motorcycle shoes is made of full-grain cowhide. GTX refers to the integrated GORE-TEX membrane that turns these casual motorcycle shoes into waterproof ones.
The combination of a stylish appearance, leather and waterproof properties is what makes the Saxton GTX into a motorcycle shoe you can effortlessly wear on or next to your motorcycle. You can even wear these in the office all day, for example. Just for the sake of completeness, we mention that a motorcycle shoe that reaches to your ankle and that has waterproof features is not comparable to a rubber boot that’s knee-high. Then again, this will offer a certain extent of protection against the weather.
Obviously, there’s other protective material too. The soft and comfortable lining hides the toe and heel reinforcements. There’s also a specific and harder type of protector for the ankle. We don’t need to emphasise that the full-grain leather has the natural ability of adding solidity and wear-resistance. Underneath all that, Held has fitted a decent rubber non-slip sole. One that’s suitable for walking around in too.
Taking the Saxton GTX off or putting them on, is child’s play. There’s no need to untie the laces because the side-zip on the inside takes care of everything. Especially when you are assisted by the pull tab in the back.
The nose has been given one extra layer and the Held logo there also acts as gear lever protector.
