The Skwal i3 Jet is a jet helmet with integrated brake lights, sharing this innovative feature with its full-face counterpart, the Shark Skwal i3. More than just a safety accessory, it showcases Shark's commitment to technological advancement.
This helmet comes with a clear and iridium blue visor as standard.
The unique rechargeable LED lighting system is a standout feature, making riders more visible to other road users. The white LEDs remain integrated into the top ventilation, while the rear features red lighting – strategically designed to function as an active brake light. Riders can set the rear lights to remain steady or flash (as in previous models), but now there's an added ‘smart brake light’ layer.
Regardless of the lighting mode, during emergency braking, the system increases visibility by flashing or intensifying the blinking, depending on the initial setting. Before you ask: This is achieved via a built-in accelerometer that detects movement without requiring cables or a Bluetooth connection.
The LED system offers three user modes: position lights, smart brake lights, and flashing indicators. Each press of the power button cycles through the modes. The battery lasts for 12 hours and can be quickly recharged when needed.
Two high-impact Lexan™ injected polycarbonate motorcycle shells accommodate six helmet sizes. Thanks to this lightweight material, the helmet weighs approximately 1,425 grams – an excellent balance between protection and comfort. Beneath the shell, a multi-density EPS liner provides exceptional shock absorption.
Without a chin bar, front ventilation is limited to two upper vents, with exhaust outlets at the rear for airflow management. The Shark Skwal i3 Jet's form and lines closely align with the aerodynamic curves of its ‘functionally efficient’ full-face cousin.
The Pinlock-ready clear visor is designed to maximize your field of vision – broad and sufficiently long – providing a complete and unobstructed view. Visual distortions are minimized due to the variable thickness of the clear visor, which is also scratch-resistant.
A patented quick-release system allows for tool-free visor changes, and the standard visor is ready to accommodate a Pinlock 70 lens. The integrated sun visor maintains the same high quality, is scratch-resistant, and can be operated with motorcycle gloves using the centrally located top slider.
The – still – comfortable liner is a recent version. It is washable, removable, comfortable ... The patented method of attaching and detaching the interior allows for an optimal fit, ensuring the best possible comfort. The Shark Skwal i3 Jet is fully compatible with the Sena and Shark-developed intercom system, available in both Bluetooth and mesh versions.
The helmet is secured using a micrometric buckle, allowing for precise adjustments.
For maintenance of this helmet, we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. A treatment on the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night scratches cause a blinding reflection of streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
