The i31 is a maxi-jet helmet, the ECE 22.06-certified successor to an already outstanding motorcycle helmet. One version back, it received a complete makeover, and in the finest HJC maxi-jet tradition, this one is another top performer.
The i31 and its counterparts are jet helmets that lean closer to modular helmets rather than traditional brain buckets, both in design and features. It even offers integration for the SMART HJC 20B intercom system, making it an excellent extra motorcycle helmet for the occasional pillion rider.
Two helmet shells made of APC (Advanced Polycarbonate Composite) cover all helmet sizes, ensuring a compact fit every time. To begin with, a high-performance top ventilation system that pulls in maximum air and oxygen, ensuring a fresh airflow throughout the helmet before exiting at the back. This airflow system works seamlessly with the interior and the cheek pads, which are moisture-wicking, removable, and washable. The cheek pads are even available in different sizes for a customized fit. This type of motorcycle helmet does not make empty promises about ‘hot winter rides’: you wear the i31 when conditions are good – a perfectly understandable choice. The long, transparent visor extends far down, shielding your entire face. That means you can open the throttle after a red light without worrying about becoming short of breath. The visor is Pinlock-ready, designed to prevent turbulence, and offers a wide field of view. Thanks to the quick-release system, it can be swapped out in seconds.
But that’s not all—you also get an integrated 'dark smoke' sun visor, adjustable in two different heights. The control switch is located on the lower left side, and whether you’re wearing motorcycle gloves or not, it’s smooth and easy to use.

Maintenance tips:
- Are you reluctant to disassemble the interior of your helmet in order to wash it? You can also clean the interior without removing it with S100 Helmet Interior Cleaner.
- The outside and the visor of your helmet should be cleaned with S100 Helmet and visor cleaner.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you.
