Description

The SCHUBERTH J2 is the latest evolution in SCHUBERTH's jet helmet lineup, building upon models like the J1 and the still-excellent M1 Pro. With the J2, SCHUBERTH introduces several upgrades that take the jet helmet concept to the next level. Do keep reading.

The J2 was necessary. The J1 is now over a decade old and is starting to resemble an American football helmet. Both in safety and comfort, modern advancements allow for so much more, and the J2 jet helmet fully embraces these improvements. It’s also ECE-R 22.06-certified.

According to SCHUBERTH, the J2 combines safety, aerodynamics, and a lightweight design—which, of course, they would claim. However, what’s certain is that the innovative, removable chin bar remains a standout feature, especially after this update. This is a jet helmet that comes very close to a full-face motorcycle helmet. Whether you’re commuting daily or cruising on the weekend, riding with the J2 is never a chore.

The chin bar is also a functional safety element—it’s designed to absorb the first impact. That said, the J2 remains a jet helmet—nothing more. You can remove the chin bar using two sliders, and once you click them back down, there’s no visible sign that a chin bar was ever there.

Two helmet shells accommodate seven sizes. The J2’s shell is made using SCHUBERTH’s DFP (Direct Fibre Processing) technology with fiberglass, reinforced with carbon fibre for better shock absorption. The helmet weighs between 1,520g and 1,700g, which is relatively heavy for a jet helmet—but then again, the J2 surpasses that category.

Inside, a new EPS material provides enhanced shock absorption once again, with two different density layers for optimal protection. The SCHUBERTH INDIVIDUAL PROGRAM allows for custom fit adjustments, and for dry and hygienic breathability, you simply open the top ventilation.

A new visor mechanism offers infinite visor positions, eliminating the need for preset ‘click stops’. The SCHUBERTH J2 features a long, scratch-resistant, transparent visor, extending down to the chin bar to protect against wind and the elements. So, there’s no need to avoid the highway—and even at high speeds, you won’t struggle to breathe. Additionally, there’s an internal sun visor that’s adjustable in two heights—a handy feature.

With reduced turbulence, the J2 improves acoustic performance. Even the chin bar is said to play a role here. SCHUBERTH provides an actual noise level measurement: at 100 km/h on a naked bike, you’ll experience about 88 dB—about as loud as a kitchen mixer or a distant train. That’s significantly quieter than a construction site—let’s not forget that the J2 is still a jet helmet.

For safety, the Anti Roll Off System (A.R.O.S) ensures stability, while the removable chin bar adds extra protection and a distinctive look. The chin strap of the J2 has also been repositioned for greater comfort.

In terms of communication, the J2 comes pre-equipped with cabling and components, making it easy to integrate three intercom systems: SENA SC2, SC2 Standard, and Cardo SC Edge.

Maintenance tips:

Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections of street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a long trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
