Asbestos-free organic brake pads, also called standard brake pads, are made from cellulose (fibreglass, ground cardboard and mineral filler) and a phenol-based binder. This combination creates a heat-resistant resin, which hardens at higher temperatures. The good friction properties of organic brake pads require less force on the brake lever. At low temperatures, a standard brake pad is also virtually silent. For normal, everyday use of a motorcycle on public roads, this type of brake pad is perfectly suited. They are also relatively inexpensive. The organic pads are fixed to the black steel carrier plate by means of the patented NRS technology where a metal shark-skin design ensures that the brake pads cannot slip or move from their backing plate, even under extreme braking. They are durable and have a long life span in normal use.
