Protective underwear
Protective undergarments are motorcycle clothing worn directly against the skin.
They combine the comfort and fit of underwear with properties you do not always expect from a standard inner or base layer: abrasion resistance, impact protection, breathability, and temperature regulation. Depending on the model, the focus is more on protection or more on thermal comfort, but both offer more than a standard base layer ever could.

Protective undergarments can be worn on their own in mild weather, or as an extra layer under your motorcycle jacket in cold conditions. Thermal versions also help to effectively regulate your body temperature.
In both cases, they fit so close to the body that they are barely noticeable, and they do their job when it really matters.
