A wheel clamp is also useful for when you want to give the bike a thorough cleaning or a bit of maintenance. In a wheel clamp the motorcycle stands upright, requiring little extra space.
Choose the right wheel clamp for maximum effect. This is much easier than it looks. You only have to take into account two things: the width of your front tyre and the diameter of your front wheel. And both dimensions can be found on the tyre, if you know where to look.
Each motorcycle tyre has a similar code, as shown in the example below:
The code contains a lot of information, but the only thing you need to know now is:
- The width of the tire, expressed in mm. In this case it is 110.
- The diameter of the wheel, expressed in inches. In this case it is 19.
Sometimes a different, older size representation is used:
- As with the modern indication, here you will find the diameter of the wheel, expressed in inches. In this case it is 18.
- The code for the width of the tyre (also in inches), in this case 3.25. You can easily convert this code to the tire width in mm using the table below.
